Day 1: TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
We shall pick you up in the morning from Entebbe and depart for South Western Uganda, where the park is located. The journey takes 6-8 hours. It’s a long journey, but we shall stop over at Igongo Country hotel for lunch. Stay at one of the lodging options in Buhoma, Rushaga, Ruhija or Nkuringo depending on which gorilla group you have arranged to track. Spend the cool Bwindi evening at the lodge’s fire place.
DINNER & OVERNIGHT: Lodging option in Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo or Rushaga
Day 2:LET'S TRACK SOME GORILLAS
After the early morning briefing from your ranger guide, begin tracking the mountain Gorillas through the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest at 8:30am. This can take a couple of hours or a whole day depending on the location of the apes. Keep an eye out for forest species such as Buffaloes, elephants, black forested duikers and bushbucks.
The trek can take anywhere from 3 to 9 hours. We would have to ensure that we are back to the starting point at 19:00. After a well-earned packed lunch, rest your legs and enjoy a view of the forested hillside, or take a restorative massage offered in most of the lodges.
DINNER & OVERNIGHT: Lodging option in Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo or Rushaga
Day 3: BACK TO ENTEBBE
After breakfast, we embark on our journey back to Kampala making stop at the Equator monument on the way to enjoy packed lunch from the lodge. The equator monument shops have amazing souvenirs. The place is ideal for photo opportunities. Thereafter, proceed to Entebbe.
